| 2007 Vintage & product news |
|
It was an ‘off year’ for perry pears, but cider apples were plentiful and of very good quality. Our 2007 production was 3790 litres (30% down on 2006), of which there are 2560 litres of cider and 1230 litres of perry (60% down on 2006).
Once again it was a very social vintage with more than 20 friends and family helping with all aspects of the cider and perry making process.

The Big Apple at Harvest Time, 13-14 October 2007 |
|
Once again we welcomed hundreds of visitors to Gregg’s Pit over The Big Apple Harvest Time weekend on 13 - 14 October 2007. Friends old and new were able to help with cider pressing, taste and buy our products and, on Saturday, enjoy another memorable performance from Leominster Morris who now describe themselves “by appointment to Gregg’s Pit”. The last dance involved mass audience participation and extended half way down the orchard!
We were joined again by Truffles (our stockist in Ross-on-Wye) who served delicious ploughman's lunches, including pork pies marinated in our Kingston Black cider, and an array of other local foods to complement our cider and perry.

| Gregg's Pit Double Winners at Stockport, June 2005 |
|
Customers at the Stockport Beer and Cider Festival, 2–4 June 2005 voted Gregg's Pit 'Cider of the Festival' and 'Perry of the Festival'.
The organisers said, "This was Stockport's 19th annual festival, and from small beginnings we've grown a strong Cider and Perry following. We had over 300 gallons of Cider and Perry from 28 different producers. Our customers have come to expect, and really appreciate, a wide range and high-quality. This year was the first time we've obtained cider and perry from you. I was delighted and impressed by your product, and extremely pleased that their quality was recognised by the festival-goers. It's rare, too, for one producer to scoop both the Cider and the Perry awards."
